[DVD version] "I watched The True Colors of Grace with my niece, Emily, and I loved the colors and thought the music was beautiful. Emily swayed to the music the entire time, and she NEVER sat down. It captured her attention, which isn't that easy to do (only Disney and Dora have done that so far), and she kissed Grace's picture on the cover several times (and wanted to hold it ). She walked up to the TV screen to kiss and hug all the animals...so with this 2-year-old, it was a hit!" -Denise (Aunt), Los Angeles, CA

"I really like the story and lesson it teaches and the way this DVD will grow with my daughter, Emily ....right now it's the music and the pictures, later it will be the reading and the lessons." -Donnie (Father), Los Angeles, CA

At the beginning, Emily (age 2) asked, "Why is the kitty sad?" and then at the end, she said "Kitty is SO HAPPY!" indicating that she recognized the change in Grace. She also loved the horses (asked to rewind a few times at that part) and when the "doggie" came on the screen, she wanted to give him a kiss. She swayed to the music of the song and never left the room.

[Book & DVD version] "The book is FANTASTIC! Ashley (age 2) normally doesn't sit still for very many books but she most certainly did for this one! I played the DVD immediately after reading her the book, and it kept her attention also... a wee bit unbelievable with my daughter - she very rarely sits still for anything, so I must say, I believe you have a winner here! The music is absolutely perfect as well -- you two really have a great work in this project -- BRAVO!" -Debbie (Mother), Pittsburgh, PA

[Book] "The True Colors of Grace is a sensitive story of love, friendship and self-acceptance. Geared for early childhood readers, it stresses compassion for others no matter their size, physical appearances or differences. Through Pat Herring’s visually appealing illustrations, readers become aware that true beauty comes from inside of us and that our uniqueness is a special gift which helps to determine who we really are. This story is a must read for children who are asking questions as they grow and develop into unique individuals themselves." -Constance (Retired Director of Reading, Education Department, Geneva College), Beaver Falls, PA

[DVD version] "We LOVE the DVD.The girls (ages 4 and 7) love the story, the pictures are brilliant, and the music is great too! They have watched it three times this week." -Kara (Mother), Willard, OH

[DVD version] The lessons and the story are wonderful . . . I can't wait to share this with my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I know they will enjoy the illustrations and music and I love that they will learn valuable lessons as well. -Theresa (grandmother of 10), Philadelphia, PA

[DVD version] Your story is charming and so meaningful for children and adults alike. Steve's music is a wonderful addition and Laura's voice is delightful. My 6 grandchildren sat at total attention and at the end, Joshua (the oldest at 5 years) said, "That was really a very nice story, Grandma." Joshua has asked to watch it again and again, and one time when he watched it with his Great-Grandma, he asked her if she noticed how Grace changed from the beginning to the end. -Susie, Pittsburgh, PA

[DVD version] THE TRUE COLORS OF GRACE is just the kind of story children should hear. Many children, like little Grace, do not feel good about themselves but find that when they concentrate on helping others in any way they can, they feel better inside....a lesson we all need to carry with us throughout life. The story is beautifully illustrated with bright harmonious colors and will catch the eyes of young children. A song compliments the story and is easy for any young child to learn, and the section on the lessons embedded in the story reinforces the meaning. This is an outstanding representation of a story that children are sure to enjoy while learning important lessons about life. -Shirley, Retired teacher, Maysville, NC

[DVD version] This is a wonderfully produced treasure! From the important message this great story delivers and the amazing imagery and lovable characters, to the fun, celebratory song written just for this story, it kept my two-year-old son captivated from the start! (As well as myself.) I enthusiastically recommend THE TRUE COLORS OF GRACE to any parent. -Kip, Missoula, MT

[DVD version] I showed THE TRUE COLORS OF GRACE DVD to my Pre-Kindergarten class at MY SCHOOL Preschool in Mars, Pennsylvania. While the children watched and listened to the story I jotted down their whispers and reactions. The first thing I noticed was 2 smiling boys, Will (5 1/2 yrs) and Nathan (5 1/2 yrs), swaying happily to the beat of the musical score -- clearly they were moved in a positive way.

Shea (5 1/2 yrs) whispered to a neighbor, "This is a good book."

Nathan (5 1/2 yrs) recognized the physical changes occurring to Grace as she progressed on her journey and exclaimed, "She's growing!"

Matthew (6 yrs) turned to me about midway through the tale and said, "She's sharing and helping."

When the illustration of Grace sleeping in the grass appeared on the screen a resounding "AHHHH" was heard from the entire class.

After the story was over some of the children wanted to share their favorite parts: Sophia (5 1/2 yrs) liked the part when Grace helped the zebra. "Zebras are my favorite animals." Zane (6 yrs) liked the part when the dog shared with Grace. Will liked the part when Grace helped the "birdie". John's (5 1/2 yrs) favorite part was when Grace helped free the butterfly. "It was cute. You can help your mom and dad too." (John and his family are presently building a new house and he has been directly involved with the process, so I think he related to a small kitten's ability to be a big help.)

I also shared the story with my grandchildren, Molly (5 yrs) and Will (3 yrs) of Leesburg, Virginia. Molly and Will loved the tale and asked to watch and listen to it 3 times. The second time we viewed it, Molly asked to play the version where she can view the illustrations and read the words on her own. This is an excellent option to provide viewers. Molly had a great time reading the story to us. I think that this story is a perfect fit for the age group between the years of 3 and 6. -Cindy, Pre-K teacher with 20 years experience and grandmother, Gibsonia, PA
